NIA raid in Mangalore: PFI and SDPI workers protest against NIA raid in Mangaluru
After conducting a continuous search for 5 to 6 hours, the National Investigation Team went to the SDPI and PFI offices in Mangalore, Coastal District, on Thursday.
The NIA officials have seized many important documents from the SDPI office at Nellikai Road in Mangalore city and have taken the hard disk of the computer CPU.
The NIA officers opened the CPU box and took the hard disk, cut the lock with a blade and opened the shutter of the office. The SDPI leaders alleged that the inner glass door was smashed.
During the attack in Mangalore, PFI and SDPI activists gathered and protested against the attack. The police arrested him.
A total of five PFI leaders have been arrested in a raid by NIA and state police in Dakshina Kannada district. Three PFI leaders have been picked up in Mangalore Commissionerate and two in Puttur and Bantwala respectively.
PFI state leader Tapseer, son of Bolantoor resident of Kalladka, Abdul Khader Samettadka, resident of Puttur taluk raided the house and arrested both of them along with the documents.
PFI State Secretary AK Ashraf, a resident of Jokkatte, PFI Rural District President Nawaz Kavuru, a resident of Kavur, PFI State Committee member Moddeen, a resident of Uladhangadi, have been arrested.
Police teams led by Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police and Mangalore City Police Commissioner assisted the NIA officers during the raid. The NIA raids took place in various parts of the state including Shimoga and Bangalore around 6 am.
The NIA team behaved like barbarians, NIA inspector Shanmugam and his team raided the SDPI district office at 3.30 am on Thursday. In this case, the glass of the front door of the office was broken. Also SDPI state committee member Athavullah Jokatte alleged that all the documents in the office were messed up and checked and they behaved like barbarians.
